Poems of José Gautier Benítez
José Gautier Benítez is considered to be the highest exponent of post-romanticism in his country and is also known as “El Bécquer puertorriqueño”, not only because of the Becquerian influence on the metric but also on the content. He made poems to friendship, to the homeland, to love and death. His poems are Ausencia, Regreso, and La barca.
